    That thing is sexy!!

    1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
    1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

the thing has such a big turbo it would probably take till about 10,000 rpm to spool to and then go to 14,000 rpm like mad.... and it probably has a VERY low compression ratio to make that power safely it would suck off of boost.... i bet you the thing is the biggest dyno queen ever made....

Its the only one made, insurable value is insane, but it's art, that's priceless.
For the rest of us, all but one or two could not replicate it. But we could take a
4.4 aluminum v8 from a volvo, built by Yami and designed by Ford SVO team and come
darn close. A SVO V8 being so narrow and light would probably fit...but what trans??

The 3.4 V8 in the late gen SHO should actually fit under the hood... it's nearly the same dimensions as the 3.0/3.2 and should bolt to a 1.6/1.9 Ford trans from an early non-GT Escort, IIRC. (It's a Duratec block, right?)

Fix the cam spin issue and it's not that bad of a motor, and since it'll probably fit under the hood with a hammer and some pry bars, it'd be one hell of a sleeper.

The sho 3.4 was kind of a mess, half built by ford, half built by yamaha. In the end it was not a great engine, even with out the cam issues. The smaller bores didnt breath as good as the larger 3.0/3.2 bores and the intake wasnt as well desinged. matter of fact that was the 3.0/3.2 greatest asset, ( the intake) it provide a WIDE flat torque band. The intakes cross ram/ dual length design is still copied ..

You can now you can get better numbers out of some newer V/6s ..some of it because they are larger and there is aftermarket support.

For the crazy die hards that keep the 3.0/3.2 going its getting harder every year, parts are getting hard to find and pricey, as of this year you can no longer even get a set of standard size main bearing for the engine, they will just not make a run of them due to the limited demand. (:

The 3.0/ 3.2 was years ahead in design.. when it came out. Yamaha built bike engines and was playing with the idea of racing F1, thye had some wild designs, 5 valves per cylinder etc. Although the SHO 3.0 / 3.2 was not a race engine it shared many of Yamaha design ideas.

You can see its Just a BIG bike engine when you strip off all the extras..

it is several years newer and is using technology from then. Is it worth messing with them?

It's not the only one made. They are what powers the new v8 Ariel Atom. That's why the website says all production is spoken for until the second quarter is 2012.

"Q: What is the price and delivery for an engine?
A: Engines are built to order and vary widely depending on specification and scope.* Typical prices are $33k for a*H1*and $20k for a H2 engine.* All production capacity is taken until late second quarter 2012."

Some things mixed up, the atom is using a honda, and their highest HP offering is around 300hp supercharged.

The H1 is John Hartley and Holeshot Racing creation and now they are building them
The turbo version offers 1000HP . Suzuki is one of the sponsors. With a couple big name sponsors of our own, lots of spare time and personal wealth it might be possible to get one!! It does not have a transmission with it.

same question, why not a wrecked busa, turbo it if its not already and figure out how to handle the excess power in a front driver little car like ours? They are plug and play in sandrails already..
keep the old set up to pass emissions..
