Im going to try to do it but all the junkyards around here want to much for them. I really want to find one of those vvt heads.

ZM is the engine in the 2000 protege, the 1.6 version... its like the z5's bigger brother

I investigated the use of the z5 and found the head to be garbage because of the tiny tiny valves and ports.. however the zm seems to have a head and intake manifold that flows better than the z5

This head on a b6 block should have a high compression ratio, and be substantially more powerful because of the better flowing head

how come mazda guys are so slow... honda guys have been doing this stuff for years and its taken this long for someone to figure it out on a mazda?

Im thinking this head coupled with a b6 SOHC bottom end would have a crazy compression ratio and make lots of horsepower...

Which pistons would you run? since you'd need the relief cuts for the valves...

And how high you gonna rev it? Gonna have to have good motor parts or I bet it will come apart easy revving to let's say 8000? And only MS guys could run it correct?

Who needs valve releases? I just have to make sure my timing belt wont snap

The valve Releases and the valves dont line up on my motor, hasnt stopped me yet

I wonder what the zm bottom end looks like? Im wondering if a direct zm swap would be better? or maybe the zm pistons are superdished and a b6ze bottom end might yeild a higher comp ratio.
