Works the same way, only you rev the engine up to match the trans RPM for the lower gear.

You NEED the clutch to start, but my daughter has gotten it in gear a few times without a clutch.

wow. this is always a sensitive subject with some, but i am a student at UTI in glendale heights IL and i just finished my class on manual transmissions, and we discussed this quite a bit actually. When people say which is cheaper, the tranny or a clutch, they are somewhat right, but usually from doing this "rev matching" one over time wears out the blocking(syncro) rings in the tranny. for a festy: couple dollar fix usually for new blocking rings. but who wants to or has the skills to rebuild a tranny? use the clutch!!! thats what it's there for!!! :idea:Q-why turbo a b3?
A-why not?
