Weber adapter plate.

Anybody needing a Weber adapter plate? I have a machinist who owns CNC mills and he made me a plate and there is a couple guys that I'm gonna have him make plates for, so just wonderimg if anybody else needs one. He is making them for me @ 75 bucks a piece, and I was gonna ask him if I order like a bulk amount does the price go down. I'm gonna pull mine off today and take it down to him so he can put it in the computer and get started on the ones that are needed now so if anybody needs one please let me know.

I looked at weber carbs direct and they sell the kit with both plates, bolts and screws, and the gaskets for only like 25 bucks.... so i would really like to get this plate down in price it seems way over priced, im gonna talk to him and see if we can work out a lower price especially if im gonna have more made it would already be in the computer and he could just make a batch... maybe ill have him make a full batch for me and ill just buy them all and have extra and maybe he will give us a better deal that way.... just need to know that there is people wanting these other wise ill be wasting my money.

I'm looking to convert to a Weber also and have been looking into adapters. I agree that $75 seems a little steep, but that may be because I just don't want to pay that much....lol I guess that isn't really too far out of line as the mass produced kit with adapters, filters, etc. is $70 more than the carb by itself.

I'm actually talking to the guy right now I dropped off my plate for him to replicate... I made a deal that he will do a full machine which will make 5 plates so he will do 50 per plate now. So I will have 5 of them... So if your order this kit... http://www.webercarbsdirect.com/product_p/wk601.htm
Then it will be 269 for the weber and 50 for the plate from me I will just charge shipping cost to you. So that's 320 plus whatever shipping cost and you will have everything you need... And yes the weber swap is awesome.

Yes I know about about the Australian kit... Its exactly the same as what I'm doing except your paying an extra 300 dollars to have it all in one package..... The weber kit from weber carbs direct for a suzuki samurai is only 269.00 plus shipping at my address is 41.00 for us postal... Should be close for others, then my plate is now 50.00 and shipping which should be cheap as its small. So this all together makes 360.00 vs the australian one is 600.00 shipped so your saving almost 300 bucks

Only thing on the australian one is they jet it, but it's gonna be jetted for the altitude where they are... So depending an your altitude you would have to re jet anyways

Here is the thing guys, I'm just trying to help those out there that want to do the weber swap and don't have the means to make an adapter plate. I made my own the first time and it didn't last because the aluminum I used was way too thin and it bent and stripped the threads... So I do work for a machine shop that builds robots and figured I would ask them and they did it for me for trade of work. Now this plate I'm having made is professionally made by a cnc mill, so it will be perfect thickness and holes are tight and perfect. The guy making them for me is charging me 50 per plate... And that's only because I'm gonna order 5 at a time so he can run the machine full of them... Basically it's better for him so he gets 1 machine run and 5 plates sold vs a machine run time and only 2 plates made... So I am making 0.00 dollars on this and spending my time to pick them up and ship them to you guys... I'm not trying to make money cuz I know there is very few people who really need these, it would be pointless for me to try and make a dollar on it because as it is the price is 50 bucks. So please don't think that I'm trying to raise the price and make money... If you know somebody locally that can make them then go for it, or if you would rather order the australian kit that's fine too it's just crazy expensive. I'm doing this because when I was doing my swap there was a couple threads on people who kept saying they were gonna make plates and then never did... So I was stuck trying to figure out what to do. So this solves the problem, I will have him make 5 at a time and I have to pay him up front for 5 so out of my pocket is 250 bucks... So please let me know if you want one and don't back out because this is coming out of my pocket and all I'm doing is trying to help... My girlfriend is mad that I'm not charging extra... Lol but right now I'm laid off and have time so please just pm me and let me know. Thanks

Grey wolf, im gonna have my plate back prob today or tomorrow i can post a pic of mine, the ones im having made will actually be more machined look then mine cuz when they made mine it was a manual machine so done by hand.. the new ones will be made by a cnc mill so fully computerized.

It's awesome what you're doing, drumner. Don't get discouraged if people don't immediately show interest, as it's still winter for most people.

What will the thickness of the bottom plate be?

Also, for anyone wanting to save money by buying an escort carb, the escort/weber carb and the weber/weber carb mounting holes are not identical. The weber adapter is slightly more 'elongated'. In another thread, I think someone said they were the same.
