    Re: Weber adapter plate.

He told me when they made mine it was done manually, so the new ones are being done on the cnc so they will have a more finished look to them so will prob be more shinny

Ok here is how the plate will work.

First you need to grease the side of the gasket to face down and place it on the intake, then grease the side facing up.

Then place the plate you will receive from me on top of the gasket.

Then put locktite on the bolts with the larger head and hand tighten into intake. (you do not need to use red locktite thats all i had so it will work fine its just overkill.)

Then go ahead and tighten them down real good, tight but obviously dont over do it and strip the threads.

Now you will notice the grease will spew out a bit inside and on the outside, you can wipe it now or wait till you have all the plates on just remember to do it before you put on the carb.

Now grease up the next gasket on the face to go down and place it on the plate.

Then grease the side facing up.

Then place the next plate on top (this is the one that will come in A: the adapter kit or B: the weber kit will have this in it.)

Put locktite on the smaller allen head bolts and screw in by hand, and then tighten real good.

Now grease up the carb gasket on the side to face down. Then also grease the side facing up.

Next you to find the studs that came with the kit, now pay attention to the stud... one side has a kinda squished tip (this side the nut will go on easily)

The other side is just normal. This is the side you want to screw down into the plate with the squished side of the stud facing upward.

Put locktite on the normal side of the bolt and hand tighten only untill it bottoms out. (do not put a nut on and try and use a wrench to tighten these in, you will end up pushing them through and bending the plate causing a leak in the gaskets)

Now you can set the carb down over the studs.

Now you need to put the throttle linkage plate on the front two studs and then find the bent looking washers and place them over all the studs.

Now put on all 4 nuts and snug down by hand.

Tighten down the nuts real good and then wipe up any access grease. Now at this point you need to hook up your throttle cable and probably add a return spring because the gas peddle will be way too easy to push. Once you have checked the linkage to be sure its opening and closing fully and connected fuel lines and evap hose you are ready to fire it up.... the weber directions will give you a good detailed steps on preparing for startup i suggest following them.

Now once you have it started and adjust the idle air adjustment screw and have it idleing you need to grab a can of choke cleaner or starting fluid and spray some around the base of the carb and plates on all sides and see if there is any change in idle... if there is then that is the indication that you have a leak in the gaskets... this means you will need to take it back apart and see why you have a leak, this is why its important to grease the gaskets when you are assembling to help make a good seal. If you have no change in idle then you are good to go! Now just start the tuning process or take it to your local mechanic to tune it. Enjoy!!

Nice. Any reason you're using greasy gaskets instead of RTV or 0 clearance anaerobic gasket maker? Just curious.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.
