Would be awesome to see you stick a 2-speed truck rear end under it if you do get around to swapping your drive configuration. You could still have stupid gearing, plus an "overdrive" set of gears for everyday driving/cruise. That would be a lot of weight, though.

Um....yeah... a LOT of weight. And size. It'd prolly take all the power from the KL just to turn that thing.

          • Find an OLD Columbia rear end (fancy salesman speak for 2 speed) and it might be light enough to be feasible. IDK specifics though. I just figure the older the less power it needed to take, so....
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

              • Has anyone ever converted to run a 7 rib serpentine? I need to get that figured out fir supercharger driving

                • Or any ribbed belt could be made to work. Would a tensioner pulley be needed or could it just be tightened like the alternator

                  • My buddies blown miata runs a 5 rib, but it slips sometimes and is often a pain in the @$$. With 350ft.lbs, it still couldn't catch the b6t Festy.

                      • M90 is 6 rib. Or 8-rib with aftermarket pulleys. Slip is probably inevitable on one of these cars unless you really get a good drive setup and either run low boost or bypass at higher rpms.

                        • Do people use ribbed timing belts as accessory drive belts? I think this sounds like the only workable solution

                          • I am due to I wanted to run a harmonic damper. Frame had to be cut.

                            • I just need to find a b6 engine that will work. I'll put it on the engine stand and get to work on cramming an m90 behind the engine.

Yeah, the foil works good to keep the header from melting the brake parts and keeps the charger inlet cooler.Since this is only a race car and often needs to be torn down, the foil is quick and cheap. Fiberglass wrap sucks on a car your always working on. It gets ya all itchy, especially in this hot desert heat. Getting itchy fiberglass on you at the track is miserable.
