Then i covered the other 3 primary starting points with paper on top of them.
what i saw was that the air going into the manifold was coming back out the wrong direction pushing the paper off the openings.

But when i did the same test to matt dick meyers long tube design.
the negative pressure wave created through the other primaries created a vacuum sealing the paper onto each opening.
Which just goes to show you how effecting the scavenging effect was on the long tube header.
and the fact that the factory aspire manifold had no negative pressure scavenging rather it was forcing air back into the other chambers.

    just thought id share.

i've actually just recently came into contact with a guy in my hometown that does custom fab work with about anything(dude has a 1st gen vipers v10 in a mitsubishi starion if that gives you an idea), he just needs a stock manifold for dimensions fab up a flange to mount to the head.

I was thinking an unequal length header would be a cool route to take- as im not looking for a performance gain really other than it would be a odd sound coming from a festiva, although i'm unsure of how to specify how to make it( he may already know but i cant say for sure) should i use the piping sizes specified in the link you gave me to the mazda 121 headers?

The carbed cars have EGR in the manifold. EFI doesn't.

If you're using a header anyway, you could just do away with it. I've never done it on a Festiva, but it can't be that hard from past experience with other cars.

That's a pretty smoking deal even with shipping. Especially given the distance it has to be shipped.
