That thing had one heck of a oil leak

It's the original yellow - looked up the code here in this forum and got touch-up mixed at NAPA (almost perfect match!).

Karl helped me replace the front main seal last summer, which cut down on the leakage a lot. But it's obviously still leaking somewhere (head gasket, I think). The entire passenger side underneith is coated with oil. It is also (still) getting oil into the intake plenum somehow or another. I'll bet 2 or 3 ounces was in there. Definately needs some attention :roll:

I'm just going to wipe everything down with paint thinner to clean it. Going to take out the entire AC system too (compressor is shot). Fun fun!

It lives! Starts right up & runs smoothly, but won't idle, and won't rev up very high. Hopefully I've forgotten to connect up some hose or something. Done for the day - I'll give it a fresh look tomorrow

Ya know, I'm imagining a possible problem; what effect will the fact that the engine is drawing only half as much air through the mass air sensor gizmo have? Would that make the two fuel injectors only squirt half as much gas?

Might have to adjust the VAF. Don't know how to do it but a few Escort GT owners do.
