I didn't read the whole thread, but if you haven't seen this yet check it out. I've done it to two festy's now... can't imageine doing it any other way.

Of course if you want to have a fat shiny 30lb fartcan, then this isn't the way to go. But for a cheap and effective exhaust, I haven't seen anything that can beat it!

I was thinking about a crx exhaust, but got the bosal for cheap, so hopefully it will be as quiet as I want

If you plan on removing the well entirely I think it would look sharp to run a modified vette muffler or VW muffler with the dual center exaust pipes

Are you sure about that? All the dtm style exhausts I've seen point up. I think it looks dumb either way. Still plan on cutting most of the tip off

It doesn't have mounts....it's exactly like the one pictured in the auction. Here's a random dual tip dtm exhaust pic I found online...

Did he mount it upside down?

Ok so I did a little research on why the mufflers turn up - Its to clear the lower lip on the rear valences

Yeah, I couldn't find a real reason for it besides looks. I guess some people like it?! I still plan on cutting it off straight though

The DTM tips is just for looks no clearance or nothing like that. Alot of people get them and cut them to where they are straight. Or you could tell people this, "These tips are to dump the exhaust in a low pressure area behind the car which would help reduce back pressure further at speed"
