well, I won't make that claim. I'm sure someone did it before me, too.

I did basically the same thing. I modified the Prelude seat foam to fit the Festiva frame. Then, I cut up the Prelude material and restiched it to fit the modified foam. I still have the seats; they're in storage at the moment, waiting for Project Snot to restart (as soon as the house remodel is done... priorities, you know!)

        fantastic

I never even considered an Escort. That is a job well done. That is a lot of hard work. I'll keep an eye out for some more beige push pins for you. Super.

Nope, not very hard.....................time consuming tho
The hardest part was cutting the foam so it fit the Festy seat properly.then it was a matter of measuring the seat cover and cutting and sewing it to fit the foam.

I don't know about keeping the split, if you use the non-split seat you could cut the foam to fit the Festy frame and then cut the Escort seat and re-sew it to the width you need.doing this would def be easier than trying to keep the split
4 inches - so two inches off each inside of the split? and four of the center of the base?

whats the width of the splits before you started hacking? is it even worth it to keep the split off centered like that?

I didn't take anything off the seat bottom just streched it over the Festy foam & frame

              I took some rough measurments:
Festy seat each half is roughly 18 1/2"
              Escort seat measures roughly 25" & 15"
so I took approx.6 1/2" off one side and added 3 1/2 to the other side.

I would think that trying to keep the split wouldn't be easy as you need to use the Festy frames.(the seatback latches are to low on the Escort frames)

                update on map pockets

Escort map pockets one is cut and has trim to match seats the other is the bare Escort pocket

just showing what I cut off of the pocket. I used the door panel to try and get the radius close

showing the back side of the pockets.I just measured the hole placement and drilled for the mounting screws

old vs new...........I'll likely paint it to match the door panels

I'm not saying it would be easy I'm just thinking less foam to cut and relocate - hear me out -

Measure out and cut off the 3 inches you removed from where the escort seat splits - mock up on the non-split rear frame with out any foam on it - then custom make a bracket for each side of the split - simply remove the original frame between the newly created brackets - trim the fabric to fit the newly created 40-60 frame??? you think that would work? You have more insite on this since I've never actually had the rear seat frame apart

I think it will look good with the paint to match

Ok.... I think I understand now....you are thinking of making a split seat out of a non-split seat.

I don't know why it wouldn't work but I've never had the seat cover off a non-split seat. I would think if you have a welder and a bit of tubing to use for the frame where you make the split it should work.:thumbleft:

                        door handles & map pocket

painted the map pocket to match the door panel.............

grabbed the Escort door handles and found they use the same spacing for the mounting holes.
the Escort handles are much more comfortable as they are padded.
