  • spoiler install

    just purchased spoiler & i am noy sure how high to mount it & if i just use selftappers & also the correct way to install the plugs. tks

    I don't know the height but I would recommend marking it out and drilling the proper pilot holes for the screws you are using and then installing the screws and spoiler with a SCREWDRIVER so you don't either strip the metal out and not hold it tight, or get it too tight and crack the spoiler.

          This is what I did and it worked fine. I then filled the holes with that non-hardening window glaze, to prevent water from getting in; then put on the caps. Install it more towards the rear, not the front of the hatch top; otherwise when you open the hatch, the spoiler front edge will contact the roof.

              You can see where the factory holes for the plastic grommets are in this pic of my hatches.

                  Ok I did a search and this ancient thread came up. Where do the holes go and has anyone drilled all the way through and used a bolt & nut? Alternatively, has anyone used VHB only?

                    Junespeed said 3M double sided foam tape would be fine. They are cosmetic. Any downforce is probably VERY minimal.
