Well of course. We are now entitled to whatever we want, and other people have to pay for it.

      :tard:

      That is some funny stuff!

Believe it or not, I didnt get hurt  I am considering myself VERY lucky. I think I should go buy lottery tickets!!!

It was a pc of 6x6 angle iron weldment I was machine milling and reaming holes in the welded on brackets. I was at the gage pin drawer checking hole size, and the pin drawer wouldnt close, one of the drawer slides came off track. I had the weldment in hand, and set it on the pin cab to free up both hands to fix the drawer. I must have shaken the pin cab trying to get the drawer slide back together, and the 4.5 lb weldment fell over and off the cab, and landed directly on top of my head!!!

*%&^*$# Man did it hurt when it hit me!
Luckily, it landed on my head with the only flat area of the weldment!

If a corner of the weldment, or one of the brackets protruding from it had landed, instead of the one flat area, a trip to the hospital would have been imminent!!!!!

Within about 10-15 minutes it didnt hurt at all! WTH? All I can say is ya probably dont wanna get in a head butting contest with me! lol

                      • dr, it's unlucky you got hit. Don't buy any lottery tickets for six months. They are a sucker bet anyway. Unbelievable that it weighed four and a half pounds. I would wear some skull protection until it heals up.

                            • You are forgiven. THIS time! lol

Ok, I must not be as much a UBER slacker as I thought. Got a mock up on the seats going last night.

Swapping in a seat, that has rails that are level, (PM seats) into a car the has 1 3/4 height diff (Festy) takes a little ingenuity!
I just got a bunch of diff pcs of steel, with some nuts and bolts, a few C-clamps, and did some mods to the seat feet to see what I need to make this swap work. It's gonna work, just have to get the right combination.

I do know this now. If your gonna do this ... make sure ya get the seat feet from the SAME yr festy!!!!

I have an 88. The seats I got were from a 92. 2 of the feet are different between 88-89 and 90-93 yrs
I think I can mod those 2 feet, but it takes a little more work.

                              Heres pix:

cleaning off the old weld on feet

Pix of the shimming up/down to work around the 1 3/4 height diff and extending outward each side to make up the 3 1/4 rail width diff.
The rails being closer together on the PM seats actually helps. I cant just add 1 3/4 on one side to make up the 1 3/4 height diff. It makes the seat sit to high in the Festy.
Soooo... the extensions for the rail WIDTH will allow me to mod and bend a bracket to lower the feet on one side even lower than the rail
What I have to do is split the diff on the 1 3/4 rail height. I am going raise one side by welding in a spacer, the other side by bending the extension bracket for the foot to lower that side. About 7/8 higher one side, and 7/8 lower opp side

In the pix, the extentions look like they stick out really far! Its mostly an optical illusion. When set upright in the Festy they look fine. The PM seats are a tad bit wider and the rails are also closer together, so its about 1 5/8 extension each side, plus the feet also get attached to that extension.
