I actually like those designs better than the original festiva design!

Ford doesnt own the rights to the word festiva... just that particular font... this is a great idea! @firebush357

Maybe try another place. There are other custom knob makers. As long as they don't list it as a product FS on their website or something, I don't see why Ford ever would even know. Kinda stupid.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

This is dumb. If they did it before, why not again. Why does Ford even give a rats ass? Was really looking forward to this

Some Good News on the Festiva Knobs

Thanks for all the ideas guys. Those would be a good option if in the end we don't get the Festiva knobs.
            So here is the Latest:
Got this email from Christine today:
            Jesse,

I’m sorry for the inconvenience. There was a miscommunication with our licensing group and unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do right now. It’s a large expense to add to our Ford license, and our president does not wish to add Festiva at this time.

            Kind regards,

            Christine Mula

EPCO’s is one of the leading manufacturers for Bowling, Mini Bowling, Bocce, Billiards, Industrial/Commercial Ball, Sheet & Rod and Shift Knob!

So I called epco to talk to Christine and was transferred to Tim. He is a manager there and he said that he had spoken to the president of the company about the Festiva license and that he had agreed to apply for one. He said he saw no reason why Ford would not grant them one but he could not be 100% positive. As for a timetable regarding a response from Ford, he said it could be anywhere from a few days to a month.

He said he would contact me as soon as they got an answer about the license.

So far I have sent refunds for 4 knobs and I believe one other person has requested a refund as well. We had 17 knobs ordered originally.
He said the discount would still apply if we have at least 10 knobs when he gets an answer from Ford.

Considering this new development, please post in the thread telling me know what you want to do (as my message limit fills up fast when I'm communicating on something like this). Refund now or wait?
            Thanks,
            Jesse

I did send it back William, but I will leave your knob on the list and just remove the paid.
If we get a positive decision about the license, you can send it back to me then so we
don't have to send money back and forth.

No more orders are being accepted until Epco gets the Trademark License from Ford.
When they get approval I will open up the ordering for one week so additional knobs can be added to the order.
If they notify me that they did not get approval, I'm going to call it quit on this and refund everyone's money.
In the meantime if anyone who ordered a knob has changed their mind completely and wants to cancel their order please post your request in the thread and I will refund your money and update the posted order list.

If you order two or more, just add $25 each for the additional ones.
                      So for US address: for 1 $30, 2 $55, 3 $80 etc; Canada address for 1 $35, 2 $60, 3 $85 ect.

Remember, your choices of knob and letter coloring can only be from the colors shown in the sold colors page:

It's up to you to make sure that the contrast of the colors you choose makes the Festiva logo readable.

I'm importing this list to a spread sheet so if you order more than 1, please make a separate entry for each one.

If anyone is thinking about getting one of these as a present for someone and doesn't want it to show here, PM me and we will keep it confidential.

Epco was unable to get the Festiva license.

I am really sorry folk.: I received a voice mail from Christine Mula on Monday telling me that her manager notified her that they were unable to get a licence for the Festive knobs and so would not be able to make them. I waited until today to let everyone know because I had emailed Ford about the process of getting a trademark license and was waiting to hear back from them. Today I received a computer generated generic message from their Global Brand Protection Department which just listed all kinds of information about what they do and game me a phone number to call if I was interested in reporting counterfit parts or a Ford branding infringement. So I give up.

Like I said in the last post if epcoinc did not get approval I planned to refund everyone's money, so that is what I am going to do. So to be sure I do not make any mistakes, will everyone who ordered please PM me your paypal account id and tell me how much you paid me. I have the amounts and most of the paypal accounts in a spread sheet but would like everyone to confirm to make sure I have everything correct.
If anyone does not want to be refunded that way, please let me know and I will send your refund using a postal money order (at my expense).
                          Thanks,
                          Jesse

I did learn that an individual can create their own and use it but would not be allowed to sell it for a profit.

For those folks who paid through paypal, I will just use the refund option and not wait for a PM from you.
But if you see a problem, please let me know.
