      + 38mm offset

      139.6mm-88.8mm = 58.8mm

or about 2" difference in backspacing
      that's a 2" difference in backspacing
and 2" can mean the differance between fitting and not. offset is used to help align the centerline of the wheel with the turning axis of the suspention... not really a fitment issue there, which is what i'm getting at. you don't REALLY need to know the offset of a wheel to see if it fits, but you DO need to know the backspacing.

P.S. i'm not about to have this turn into a flame, just trying to stress what's more pertinant to the issue at hand: "will these fit?"

        yeah

but it would have something to do with bearing life. Offset it too much or not enough & you add extra stess/pressure on the wheel bearings
It's a good thing you don't read the stickies, you might of learned something.Poverty produces creativity

16" wide? What tires do you have on them?

As an example a wheel that is 14x6.5 is actually 15x7.5 overall. Does that make sense?

edit: I just saw your truck! I thought you had normal wheels and I was doubting that they were that wide. WOW!

Yes, these will stick out past the fender and Qtr a lot! But if you pulled and rolled them its would look really good. I think it would put higher stress on the bearing, but if you lightened the car to it would be very little increase another thing a lot of ppl put narrow tires on these rims which would decrease that stress as well.

            Thanks

I crunched some numbers according to what you guys said... For a stock wheel, half the width is 2", plus add 1/2 inch for the lip, convert it in mm and add the 38 mm offset gives me 152mm backspacing. So I searched for common wheel sizes and stumbled upon a 15 inch wheel, 7 inch width in 35 mm offset, which, after all the calculating is done, gives me 162 mm backspacing, for a difference of 10mm. Now, 10 mm isn't very big, it's a tad bigger that a 1/4 inch, but is it a big deal in fitment? Would that have been rotarykidd's best choice of size instead of the one advertised for that sportmax wheel?
The left lane? Are you crazy!!! I never drive in the left lane...It's full of freaks driving the wrong way and charging right at you!!!

Well your numbers are off. Just to be on the same page 1"=25.4mm. On a 4" wheel (5" overall) with 38mm offset you have 4" of backspacing (or 101.6 mm). It's hard to believe but remember that 38mm equals 1.5". So you have 2" (half the rim width)+ 0.5" (rear lip) + 1.5" offset = 4" backspacing which is 101.6 mm (not 152 mm.)
As a check, 152mm is 6" which is even wider than the wheel.
On a 7" wheel (8" overall) with 35mm offset you have 5.38" of backspacing (or 136.6 mm). So if you compare both wheels the 7" wide wheel has almost 1.4" more backspacing than the 4" wheel. I would imagine that you will have problems with that.

also remember that the added inch to the rim width is a rule of thumb and NOT aplicable to every rim out there. use it as a safety buffer/cusion.
