      In the Beginning...

After reviewing Tokyodrift's personal account of cracked Festiva rims, I'm becoming a believer in this phenomena.

I recently cleaned up and painted my original rims. While doing this, I was 'trippin' on how fancy the center section is. The thought occurred to me that they were cast rather than stamped. A cast steel alloy would be much more likely to crack. They're also really light in weight, even for their size.

Any ideas about 'cast steel alloy'? Would this be a possibility?

^^^Well...I had a momentary lapse of memory...I couldn't recall what a metaphor was for. And I just love using a preposition to end a sentence with.

So how about cast steel alloy being used for the festiva wheel? Not very likely is it?

Okay...so OMGLOLTokyoDrift...your first name is Chris. The guy in the Cracked Rim video, his first name is Chris. There's some speculation that the Festiva in the two videos are the same car. Hum...

I still don't see how a stock Festiva could put it's wheels through enough temperature change cycles, and generate enough lateral G's off of 155 tires to make cracks.

Perhaps I should address my skepticism directly to OMGLOLTokyoDrift?

                            PU

I enjoy the 'gangsta rankin' style of communication.

Rankin' is the 'your mama's so fat' stuff (I'm not racist). I don't want people to think I'm being hateful when I'm mouthing off. I'm not really getting mad either.

Digs at somebody's 'religious faith' will generally make that person mad, but not me. I realize that you don't have that kind of faith, that's okay. Just don't get mad when I 'return fire' about your 'lack'. You think I'm ignorant, so school me.

I'll go 'butthead comment' for 'butthead comment'.

By the way, 'butthead' is a pronoun, the word 'with' is a preposition.

Don't get me started about your mama.

                              This is for you Chris.

Let me get this straight. There are two people reporting Festiva rim cracks.

One is a member of this forum...TokyoDrift...aka Chris. The other guy is in the youtube video showing a cracked rim. His name is Chris. They both live in Southern California.

All I want to know is what kind of brake systems they have behind those stock Festiva rims. Those pads must be Xtreme. Video Chris states that people can light cigarettes off his rotors.

                              Show me the PADS!

                                I too enjoy the banter!
But it seems your understanding of some of the basic tenants of technology just aren't there!
Trying to explain fossils in terms of "creationism" is somewhat annoying!
No I "don't have that kind of faith", guilty as charged.
You seem to question everything science has produced.
Then try to find some other explanation that pleases you, or you understand.
I'm not sure which, if either, is correct but take on "faith" so much more preposterous explanations of the world around us.:???:
I actually did try to "school you" I spent a fair amount of time trying to explain to you how the steel wheels might crack.
But, I noticed you either ignored my effort or thought it frivolous.
Or it didn't fit into your ideas of what is or isn't possible.
At least you seem to be making progress in the fact that you now seem to believe that someone did actually make the drive depicted in the video.
