it shouldn't come out if it was installed properly. It NEEDS to be loctite-ed when installed to prevent back-out

They are threaded from both ends. One end has about 1/2" of thread. Put locktite on this end and tighten it into the hub till the thread bottoms out. My haven't come off yet.

I take it you'd use the permanent Loctite? Or will the Loctite Blue do?

if you expect to get them out later, use the blue, but double-nut the stud and torque it down, about 25lb-ft. If you want them out later, but are willing to fight them, and really want/need them secure, use the red and torque them. If you never expect to have them out again, use the green!

Thanks Jim. I want to convert Lux to wheel studs in the spring. I figure a true luxury Festiva should be easier to change a puncture.

A little bit of thread ressurection, but I found a better source for studs. I went to Les Schwab and got some for $1 each, and acorn nuts also for $1 each. These studs are 1.78" long and have 1.3" of thread outside the hub.

                  what is a les schwab?

must be a west coast thing...

ive been severely needing wheel studs to hold my 15" wheels on for a LONG time lol

its such a pita to put on wheels that arent hub centric onto a car with lug bolts!

Tire dealer, and I'm pretty sure they are west coast only.

After I got home and thought about it, I'm sure a screw or bolt dealer would be even cheaper. Something like Tacoma Screw. They do a lot of online stuff.
