Bought a 91 Festiva L. Scary Sloppy Suspension.

So I was outside, trying to get used to the short shifter and the thing snapped in half. Just glad I wasn't driving when it happened.

Those shafts should be forged from billet. Check for porosity to see if it was a casting. If so, warn others. Post a pic.

It snapped at the threads that went into the top of the ball at the bottom.

i overtightened the lock nut on my aspire's ebay short shifter, same issue. I tapped the top for a larger hole and put a hurst ball on there. No big deal i have long arms.

I hate my green one, its not even close to my cars color. If you want it i can send it your way, so i can buy an even uglier neochrome jdm one

It snapped at the bottom where the ball sits in the floorboard crazy stuff. I was just out there piddling getting used shorter shifting length and it just snapped. I'll get some better pics next week. I'm working doubles for the rest of the weekend.

So I am going to buy a running parts car with a broken axel for three hundred in the morning. Prob gonna throw an aspire suspension on it an d combine the two and have one good festy and sell off the left over parts.

picked up the festiva today. Its a white GL. It has AC. Both Mirrors. Cruise Control. Rear Wiper and Sprayer. And Painted Bumpers. It runs. Just needs a knuckle and axel. It's tagged and titled. Only down side is its a Auto. But I am very happy with the 300 price tag. Plus it has a good fender and door on the side that I needed for the skittle.

^^ If it has a title and runs then save it, don't part it (I'll even add "pretty please" if that helps ). Every Festy that gets parted out is one less on the road


Seriously, I have parts cars that are too for gone for the road...what parts do you need? I'll give you your money back for the GL and the parts you need to fix Skittle.

not parting it out. Im deciding whether to keep both of them or put all the cool options on one and the base stuff on the other and selling it.
I told the guy that i was gonna fix it not part it. That was why he sold it to me and not another guy that offered 150 more than me. I addicted to these things. I just hate that i'm conflicted because I could fix it and sell for a nice profit that I could really use but in reality I want to keep it since it just needs a little work and then I could have two festy's but don't know if I need two but I do want two. lol. Ill decide after I have them both fixed.
