after rear ending a car last week because my brakes didn't work I am looking for competition brakes brembo/ willwood stoptec. I have festiva hubs and drilled and slotted rotors all new brakes all around. I tried searching but as all you know search isn't capable of more than 2 words.:violent2::angryfire:

Aspire brakes, Rio brakes or Capri brakes. You don't need those expensive systems.90 Festy (Larry)--B6M (Matt D. modified B6 head), header, 5-speed, Capri XR2 front brakes, many other little mods

I did Aspire/Early Rio brakes with stock everything else. World of difference. My B6 swap needs them now, and will get them soon. The stock brakes are uncomfortably bad in situations where you really want them not to be bad.Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

My stock brakes are in good shape and can lock the wheels on dry pavement with 145 12's. Adding weight is a different story :p but i always thought mine were good. My brother and i used to do 1/4mile races and then stopping contests once we got to 60mph (on deserted highways) I could outbrake his cavalier every time with my festiva.

When hauling the atv's, all the camping gear and the boat I rely on completely stock brakes engineered for this car. That way no sue happy lawyer can get me for modifying safety equipment. Really my brakes are completely stock in good shape and I tow a lot. What ever you do just be really careful with on highway mods , make sure your insurance covers you with no disclaimers.

A good set of aspire front brakes with an NB miata master cylinder and NA miata booster, and cheap parts store organic pads (stay away from budget "ceramic" pads) and your Festiva will out stop a Porsche, Corvette or mustang with high dollar brakes.
Carbon rotors would be nice for weight savings, but 2 grand a rotor is a bit spendy for a Festiva lol.Last edited by Advancedynamix; 09-22-2015, 03:56 AM.Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege. They glaze over on light weight cars. The cheapo organics work awesome! I get mine at orielly, but they are probably all the same. They dust quite a bit, but they grip excellently. My grocery getter has huge Brembo brakes on all 4 corners, but doesn't stop like Pedro, which just has recycled mazda and ford parts.Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege. Stock Festiva brakes in proper working order are more than adequate. I rear ended a couple people in my younger days and it was 100% my fault for following too closely.Rick

What I have noticed lately, is the master cylinder bypassing internally, on one Festiva after another. Tried 2 different suppliers of new master cylinders, and 2 of rebuilt cylinders, and the one kit I could find for sale. All of these were pre-failed !!!
In frustration, I pulled a booster and master from an 02 KIA Rio and installed that. the system works perfectly. It seems we can't get good master cylinders out here.
Oh, and ceramic pads have been nothing but trouble. No car too fast !
