  • I always have problems with rustoleum cans. Krylon cans are better and I can usually get all the paint I paid for out of it.

      • Didnt get much time to work on the project today. Maybe an hour and a half, still made a little progress. More tomorrow hopefully. Note the big upgrade in the center.....goodbye automatic.....heeelllllooooo five speed !! How do you like my hood ? I think someone had a thread around here awhile back where people made a point to put rusty hoods on their rides. Well burnt hoods are the next cutting edge trend. Note the brand new clutch and brake pedal pads.

        • ouch on the hood, don't you have some leftover paint from your other fire damage repairs? You have to fix that because it will compliment everything else you have done. Nice work too.

          • So you dont think the new burnt hood trend will catch on ? The hood is trash. The metal lost its temper and the heat melted the glue that holds the underneath bracing to the outer metal. Its all wavey on top. I could paint it but the metalic paint is nearly impossible to match.

If you can't find a direct replacement, I think black would be a good match. Or like FB71 did and roll or spray on Rustoleum flat black, but I know you're a OEM kinda guy
