thanks. i saw that a while back. but this is the first engine ive ever taken apart, so i was just making sure it was good.

my bp has like 85,000 miles on it and is silver like new under the valve cover

going in the morning to pullapart again. gonna take my time and look. hopefully i can get the rest of the parts i need to start install tomorrow!

my $10 steering wheel!

went to pull a part for bp parts. no luck.
so started looking for other random stuff for my car. found a dome light that works pretty good. after a hour of looking, my gf comes walking up and says,
"i found a cool looking steering wheel in a car on other side of yard."
we walk over and its a black 83 rx7. look inside, and there it is.
it fit perfect(kinda close to blinker and wiper switches)

made some progress with motor, degreased it, bought new plugs,wires,oil,filter,thermostat,temp sensor,etc...
gonna grind oil pan like install guide says. and make a motor mount.
still need a few things off a donor protege to complete swap.
finding all the parts is harder than i thought it would be.

a/c is out!

i came down with the flu or something this past week.
well. yesterday i felt better, so i decided to take a/c out of car, plus start on battery relocation to the rear.
took the cap off the a/c line, and used a screw driver to press in release valve, and it was just a very very slow light hiss for maybe 5 seconds, then
green fizz came out for another 10 seconds. i dont understand.
i had nice cold a/c before i took it out.
any ideas?

relocated battery

finally had time to relocate my battery.
not hard at all. got the battery box for 12$ at autozone.
while looking at my battery, i noticed it was made 5/04.
i think its bout to be time to upgrade before i have problems.
"still waiting for parts for my engine install.
motor is prepped to go in."

FINALLY GOT ALL THE PARTS I NEEDED!
went to pullapart. looked for 3 hours, then there it was. a 1991 ford escort GT 5speed.
funny thing is, someone took only the parts i needed."i was mad"
so. with my head low i left with nothing.
across the street is another pull ur own parts place. went in, started walking through yard. and saw a 94 protege with the parts i needed. got the tps,vaf,tube. but no ecu..
as im walking out the yard i spot a 95 escort gt! smashed in front all the way to dash.
could just tell it was the dohc 1.8... got in side and took 2 hours to pry and wrestle the ecu out. gonna go start on install tonight!!! cant wait.

Oh, and my mistake, it was a spare tire on your hatch, not a steering wheel. ops:

since i last talked to u sparky, i found 5 local festivas running around. stopped all of them and told them bout the site. and there is one 10 miles from my house, woman only wants $300 for it. 1993 gl auto. its red... she has a bunch of storage in it or i would have bought it by now.
