Its all about the space and money i have to work with, i am for sure going to at least install the tranny in my red festiva once its off the road, to garentee it will work in a festiva (or any BF car)

the other thing i need to consider is i only have room for 3 cars, right now it's my festiva, aspire, and 300zx, so the only car i have thats good for winter is the aspire, if my girlfriend gets back to work and needs a car in the winter then one of my summer cars will have to get put on the road, which i do not want to do, so i do plan on selling my 300zx (hopefully by spring) so we can have 2 year round cars and 1 project car

Ok i see what your sayin now, i don't know how much of a difference there is in axle length between the BF chassis and the BG chassis

I had a thought of using aspire LCA's (since they're longer) to maybe give enough room for the BG axles but i never looked into that too deep

iirc a guy on m323p tried to swap bg hubs onto a bf. He tried to use the bg axles but they were to long I think. I can't remember if he said how much of a difference there was. Of course its down again so I can't check.

I found this in another thread. It looks like there is a big difference in length between bf and bg axles unless there is a difference in intermediate shaft length.

I remember reading that thread, i beleive the intermediate shafts are different lengths as well, i remember reading someone saying how escort axles are actually shorter meaning the intermediate shaft is longer in an escort

I'm just going by memory and i don't remember facts on axle differences

I set the hybrid diff. into the empty probe case and put the other half of the case in place to check how the bearings fit, and everything seems to be fitting the way it should be

so i'm getting anxious to re-assemble the tranny and start pulling the motor/trans out of my festiva to see how the probe tranny fits in the engine bay the good part is i think i can re-use my current tranny mounts on the probe tranny, at least the rear mount will work for sure

 if you bought an LSD and brought me your tranny i'd install it for you

BTW this LSD only cost me $50 but it is used and the last guy to use it blew his differential so it has some scars on it but they're only cosmetic

I re-assembled the 323 tranny today, minus the diff, just to get practice for the probe tranny, to make sure i don't mess anything up and what a PITA!! it took me several tries to get everything feeling normal again but at least i have a better understanding of the re-assembly process

Monday i'll have the phantom grip installed inside the differential, i just don't have a vice to compress the spring to install the upgrade springs or i would have done it already

Thanks for the support guys, in a few days i will be taking my festiva off the road for the winter and i plan on pulling the motor/trans for the purpose of test fitting the probe tranny so maybe in a week or two i will have the first ever probe tranny installed in a festiva!!

The last thing i'm concerned with is the depth the axles go into the tranny to reach the spider gears, i don't think the tranny cases would be that different but it also wasn't intended for 323 axles either

What i am expecting to do is put new 323 axle seals in the probe tranny just because of the different axle diameter, but thats very minor
