So is that a no, I cannot use the ecm off of the auto egt? And the throttle body will not work off of the auto?
Cool, oh and when you get to swapping out the interior wiring harness you'll see that the plug that connects to the fuel pump is different on the 89' so you'll have to swap out the fuel pump with a 90-93 festiva one, looked like you could just swap pumps and not have to mess with the tank. At least thats how it was when I was looking at my 89'

      Thank you for the manual!!!!
The Festiva harness that I got is out of an automatic festiva.
So will the ECM from the auto EGT work for me?

Where is the fuel pump located? Can't I simply do some splicing to get it to work?

Fuel pump is located under the back seat, pull the carpet up there, and then remove 4 screws off the cover plate, then theres 10 or so screws to remove to seperate the pump from the tank. Really easy to do. I think it would be easier just to grab a 90-93 pump and swap them out, it's really easy to pull the pump.

K, another trip to the junkyard!!!
Now just to find out if that Auto ECM out of the EGT will work for my swap, since I am putting the engine into an auto Festiva.

I think it will, I am putting a b6-me in one this weekend. We have a auto pcm, auto throttle body and manual car. I will let you know how things go. As for your car I think the pcm also controls the trans, so I know the egt pcm wont control your trans. Have you looked around in the 323 section on cluprotege? They are almost the same car.

K, I will take a look around there, if worse comes to worse, I can do the swap and install and try the pcm out and if it doesn't work then take a trip to the junkyard. Let me know how it goes with your swap!

If your going to swap pumps might as well get an upgrade.

That's a good idea! I might go looking in the junk yard for one... $100 is too much at the moment.

If your going through the trouble of swapping engines and rebuilding it, why compromise it with a junkyard fuel pump?

if you cant afford a pump then wait till you can. these things will just cause trouble later if not done right now.

K, thanks for the information. I will look into buying a good fuel pump. Should I budget for around $100 for one then?

                        UPDATE:
The bottom end is now rebuilt! Crankshaft and pistons all in... Now for everything else...

yeah $100, buy the one I sent you in the link 1990-1994 eclipse walbro 255lph. I guess they are plug-n-play... That is what I will be installing with my swap.

                              Update on the rebuild

Here is an update on the rebuild. So far all I have done is honed the engine, and put the pistons/crankshaft back together with the new bearings. It took a LONG time as I did things slowly to ensure it went back together properly. Here as some not so good quality pictures, but they give an idea of where I am right now.
I am trying to figure out what is next on the list of to do for the engine. I believe I need to now put the oil pump and oil pan back on.
