plus i plan on buying a few hoods to do a few diff finishes. change the hood depending on the look i want

and i'm 100% decided on flat blacking the car (will start weds) and gloss red wheels (whatever i can find or the 15" steelies if i buy tires)

I just painted my vx wheels Red last night....White car too. (casper)

And I'd rather see you make a vw/bmw a rusty car but to each his own.

            Keep us posted.....

the plan was actually to do the rusty hood to a volvo 240 wagon, but the festy was a deal i couldn't refuse.

and plans for tonite are short shifter (free/will post a diy), carbon scoop, and maybe....exhaust?

^ There already is a DIY for a short shifter

Carbon scoop with a rusted hood? I have to see that but it doesn't sound too good. Actually, I don't like hood scoops

got the scoop when i worked at a carbon fab shop and haven't had a use for it. it's a tiny naca that i think will be just right. will post pics tomm.

will do. basically you cut the metal between the ball and the lower joint and weld in a piece of metal, therefore creating a longer pivot/shorter throw

I never thought about it that way. I guess you could make your own like that.

very easy and takes no time at all. we usually just throw a 1/2" long bolt in and cover it with weld :laughing5:

Well, that's not free! I would have to buy a welder LOL

I replaced my shifter with a fairly decent copy of a B&M short shifter for a civic made from steel and it's a lot better but the shifter know now sits too low. Modding the stock shifter would take care of that. Take some measurements to see how much throw reduction you get.

i was lookin at the ebay shifter/knob/boot kits and honestly i'll prolly end up ordering one. but first i have to decide if i want a center console or not. if not, then no boot.

and the only reason i'll actually buy one is for the color lol

but i'll post measurements with pics
