Depends on the piston. Wiseco/JE/Probe/Arias will make you anything. They have the piston design already in a CAD file. All they do is re-compute depth of the crown and upper ring land and they can CNC any compression ratio you want (within reason).Originally posted by rbrown View PostCool. I understand those Wisecos raise the compression just a tad and Iwas was going to do some minor head cleanup.1989 Carby L: Stock. Slow.

I think the 7.9 is much too low on these motors.Originally posted by DON SVO View PostDepends on the piston. Wiseco/JE/Probe/Arias will make you anything. I guess I migt drop them a line and see what they can do.Rodney

7.9cr is useable for race only and at 25+ psi of boost, and even then, it's not a fun engine. i'd stick with a 9:1 minimum to keep throtle response and off boost power. it makes the engine much easier to live with.Trees aren't kind to me...
currently: 2 88Ls (Scrappy and Jersey), 88LX, 90L(Pepe), 91L, 91GL (Skippy) 93 GL Sport (the Mighty Favakk), 94 (Bruce) & 95 Aspire SEs, 97 Aspire (The Joker),
94 Justy 4WD, 87 Fiero GT, plus 2 parts cars. That's my fleet.

Looking great man. I love the Festiva in Yellow!
Edit: Bummer, I just browsed through the thread and it looks like you are gonna eventually paint it black with the grill and gas cap already done. That will be cool too, but I was looking forward to a Yellow Festy!

Yeah, that digital cluster looks pretty awesome. Does it only work with the harness for that engine?

no it works with the stock festiva harness, all i did was get the pinouts for both clusters, i popped all the pins out of the festiva plugs and put them in the corresponding spot on the mazda plugs, looks factoryOriginally posted by Prafeston View PostYeah, that digital cluster looks pretty awesome. good luck finding one they only came in the 1988 and 1989 323 gtx, and not all of them had digital clusters,Originally posted by TheresGabe View PostOMG! I need that cluster! Where and how much can I get one for?

I have an analog GTX cluster in my festiva andi once tried swapping it for a digital one, the digital one is surprisingly bigger and was a PITA to install, only to find out the tach didn;t work
so the analog went back in haha
Nice to see you still working on it

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?
