New Door Pocket

Got a door pocket for the Festy and here are the before and after pics. Plan on gutting the interior this weekend and completely redoing it all. Duplicolor Fabric and Vinyl Black. Used door pocket as a test run and it works great.

Plastic Trim

Pulled out the plastic trim this weekend and painted. Looks like new now. Here is the before and after.

Seats Painted

Also pulled out the seats from the 91 Protege DX and dyed them flat black. Turned out great. Was going to go two tone but decided to go straight black. Can't wait to finish the interior so I can install these bad boys.

Its got a hydro tranny. I looked.

Odd... I was under the assumption from ProtegeFAQ that the 1990-1992 ones were cable. Guess I was mistaken!

I really like the interior progress... are you going to be doing anything to the motor before the swap? Rebuild at all?

For sure gaskets n such. I might talk him into a rebuild. I would like to do some head porting.

Siiick... I'm a big advocate of the B8 swap, so I love seeing what people do with them! Following this one closely, that's for sure.

Hoping to do some tear down on the donor car tomorrow if all goes well. Sold the 91 protege front fenders, hood, and back seat.

B8 Donor Tear Down

Here it is guys, the tear down...

We busted into the donor car tonight and pulled the B8 with trans out. Also pulled the front brakes, ecu, shifter, etc...

Hope to complete the tear down this weekend and scrap the shell. Then comes the rebuild and tear down of the Festy. WOOHOO

Tearing Down the B8

We got the B8 tore down tonight. Got the parts cleaner out and hoping to get the parts cleaned and ready for paint Sunday. All new parts have been ordered for the rebuild and should be in tomorrow...

Head Gasket Set
Timing Belt Kit
Clutch Kit
Radiator Hoses (upper & lower)
Plugs & Wires
Water Pump
Distributor Cap
Rotor Ignition
Thermostat
Shifter Bushings
Vacuum Hoses
Fuel Line
Battery (cabling for rear mount)
Cone Air Filter (materials to fab cold air intake)
Paint (engine bay, and motor)

Tear Down Pics 1

Here are some pics of the tear down. Removed that valve cover to find that beautiful bronze luster that says "I've been taken good care of." A little wear in the cylinders but looks good. Clutch showing about 50% wear. All together a prosperous night.
