Great build thread, S22! Almost as exciting as DamKid's V6 story!

"A herd of chain smoking hobbits?" IIRC, hobbits come in gaggles, and if they're chain smoking they'd be a fustercluck.

Can't wait for the Protege seat how-to!

You also ought to post your costs for this build. Great buys on both ride and donor cars, plus selling off Protege parts, etc. If you had bought only absolutely necessary new parts, I bet you'd break even or make a few bucks!

Here is the pic of the painted headliner. Used Dupli-Color Vinyl and Fabric Paint. Took about one whole can but turned out awesome.

            Spoiler After

Here is a pic of the spoiler after paint. Used Dupli-Color Flat Black Acrylic Enamel. This will suffice for an exterior match until I get the entire car painted.

More of that to come. I think I am gunna leave the dash in, tape the inside off, and paint it where it sits. Did some research last night and that thing can be a real beast to get out. Estimated time 4 hours (according to Freshtiva).

Are you going all black? That's what my kid wants to do with whitey. I figured bumpers and car would be easy enough....But the interior is tan and lots of trim that would require painting. And what to do with the cloth inserts on the door panels?

Inside is all black. Wasn't that difficult to pull out the interior. Dupli-Color has paint for every product inside and out. The cloth door panels will paint easily with Dupli-Color Vinyl and Fabric paint. I will probably be fabricating some custom door panels; maybe two tone vinyl.

I pulled a dash in like a hout half or so really nothing to it. If you have the ratcheting swivel head wrench work great for the top bolts.

                        Seat Swap

Finished swapping the seats out last night. All that is left to do is install them once the interior goes back in. Here is a link to the write up I did on the Protege Seat Swap.

                          Valve Cover

Also got the valvle cover cleaned up and painted last night. Used Dupli-Color Engine Enamel (smurf blue). Went on thick. Two coats was more than enough. I will be sanding the lettering tops tonight as your are suppose to give it 24 hours to set-up before sanding.

After an hour or so of sanding I finally got the Valve Cover ready to go back on. Also got some more parts cleaned and ready for paint.
