I like the catch can hanging on the firewall and the rest of the engine compartment looks great to. so ya for a $130 you can rebuild my B3 lets see how many do i have to ship. just joking, you might want to check into FOTM. Keep up the good work.

it depends on your pcv set up. mine is just ran inline of the stock pcv system to catch any oil before it goes into the IM. if you are still running the stock pcv valve and attached to the IM you must keep it sealed. the vent is on the valve cover that normally attaches to the intake tube. it is ran behind the engine with a filter on it.

catch cans that run a breather on top do not use a pcv valve or use the IM to pull a vacuum. they simply run large lines to the can with a filter and let the engine breath on its own. this is what i am going to be running on the focus. no oil will get in your intake like this and no boost will get into your crankcase through the IM source.

Don't you have a vacuum leak (via the filter) at idle now, or do you have it reduced with an orfice? Maybe it's not that critical on VAF?
BTW, what brand are the 165/65-13's and where did you get them? I'm looking for some short 13's for my 323 wheels.

i capped off the port on the intake. you can not technically have a vacuum leak before the TB, but it will still cause problems because you have unmetered air if you have a hole after the vaf.

the tires are federal SS-657. got them from tires-easy.com

I saw the cap on the intake tube, I was thinking of unrestricted/unmetered air being sucked through the breather filter and hose and into the valve cover (which has intake vacuum acting on it via the PCV valve). My thinking is that if the air inlet is attached in the factory location on the intake tube (after the VAF) then it's sucking metered air. My B3's so worn out it can't even pull vacuum on the valve cover!!

Thanks for the info on the tires! I saw some 175/60R13 Federals advertised on some website...but I can't remember where!

the pcv is a metered vacuum leak. but you just pull the hose off of the valve and it wont change idle. your iac is set up to compensate for that much of a vacuum leak.

yeah i saw the 175/60's when i bought mine. the tires were a good price but shipping from that company was really high.
