^^In Japan, an AWD KL tranny does exist

      1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
      1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

          Tonights progress

Trimmed out most of the un-used stock harness so i have a nice clean looking engine bay when the swap is completed

          All the cut wiring

Then i got the 5 speed tranny bolted to the KJ starting with the clutch..... like my clutch alignment tool? haha

Then the tranny on the KJ

Next time i make it out to the garage i'll be starting to strip the KJ harness and getting it prepped for the install, and i'm also hoping to get the KJ in the engine bay for it's first test fit

So today i trimmed the transmission to clear the coolant lines,
-labelled the rest of the KJ harnes and removed it from the engine
                  -cut out the KL Y-pipe
And got the KJ into the protege for its first test fit

And here's my hood clearance.... may need to trim the hood bracing a bit

Looking at home! I can see why you're doing that on the Protege 5 and not the Festiva, not that you couldn't make it work one way or another, but that sure takes up a lot more space than the KL.

Yes for sure, this thing is definately beefier then the KL  i thing swapping a KJ into a festiva would be a LOT harder then just a KL swap, but it can still be done

Lookin Good man! Did you steal the scoops from the donor car? I would definately get some scoops to those IC's, which I am sure you plan to.

This car is gonna be so much fun with the torque these motors have! Decent mileage too!

^^You mean the hood scoops themselves? they were basically integrated into the milly hood, so i left them lol

Ugh, i hate wiring..... found out that the TPS and few other sensor wires go into a section of harness i did not keep from the millenia, then to the ECU, so i gotta track down a pin-out diagram so i can get the wiring finished...... Did i say i hate wiring? lol

But on a good note, i've found where i need to supply injector power and power to the sensors, so its progress at least
