I was thinking of taking the festy out there when its done. I'm not sure if he put new guides in or not. The head was already remanned when I bought it from egay so they may have been in good nick.

        *Update*

        Progress update!

Well I finally have gotten a chance to start getting the engine together!
I took some pictures of the short block for now. I will post some more in a few days as I am waiting for a few more parts then I will be able to finish the long block.

        Pics:

Let me know what you think!

I just looked back and noticed I never put up pics of the head. I have to put my FMS cam in so I will take some pics of it tomorrow.

As promised. I have taken some pic's of the head after I installed the FMS cam.

These were taken with my cell phone. If anyone wants more detailed pics I can break out my camera.

Let me know what you think!

Did you remember to open up the intake VR ?,as there is insufficient clearance with larger valve when lift and duration are increased with OE 109 deg LS. Be sure to confirm!

Hi Matt! Good to see you on the forum! I have not yet, but haven't put the head on yet either. Quick question though, http:// http://www.fordfestiva.com/f...amshaft&page=4 here he found that the fms cam has 108 deg ls, is that enough to not have to open the vr? If not, that's fine. If I need to open it up how much do I need to remove? ( I wrote it down but I lost the paper)

Thanks for checking out my build!

I'll contact you again with more specifics, but tighter LS increases the risk of valve/piston contact as the intake valve opens sooner as the piston is near tdc on it's assent to bdc.

                                **UPDATE**

So I got a deal on some powdercoating services and I had my intake and valvecover done. I am going to do a little something else to the valvecover but that will have to wait a few more days. Let me know what you think.

*Edit* Also, I got the cylinder head on and the head studs for a B6 work perfectly in my little B3.
