    [QUOTE=Oren09;479216]I agree with y'all on rebuilding B3s.
    I have a cherry Festiva with 71,000 originals miles on the body. Everything is stock Festiva parts except the radio, tach, cluster lighting, and wiper stalk and control module.
    My car will be considered a classic in just a few years and I'm the kind of person who likes classic cars to remain stock.
    I replaced the engine in my Festiva when I got it because the previous owner shattered a piston rod, but I replaced it with a B3. A 181K mile B3 that is now nearing 195K. The engine has some knock in it and when it goes, I want to tear it down and rebuild it. I want to keep my car stock- original components and for maximum fuel efficiency. I know others say that B6 swaps get near the same mileage of a B3 but I want the most MPG I can get.
    If I acquire another Festiva I may make it a performance car, but not doing that with my current one.

    Kinda rambly. Sorry haha.

    Likely a gloss over but I do by and large agree with you. However; OEM Festy brakes and suspension literally 'suck an egg' and being able to rectify that, to me, is not such a bad thing, and something purists should be aware of at such time that they're trying to brake a transplanted and redlining BPT in one of these cute little cars.

      Well, I finally pulled my baby out of the garage and cleaned up the garage so I will have more room to work on her and any other projects I may have.

      Shes a little dirty and has stuff on her but that will change.

      Her previous home.

      Her new home, ready to have some work done

          Possibly tommorow. I am going to be bringing the engine and all of the parts into my basement ( cause its too damn cold outside) and take stock of what I have/need and probably put the can and lash adjuster shims in.

              Yeah, my garage is a bit full with the probe and all my other junk. And since I can pretty much carry the engine into my basement I figured why not lol.

                  Not exactly sure. I think it may be timing because I have fuel and spark. I went to leave work a few weeks ago and it wouldn't start. So I dollied it home and checked all I could think of . I did compression and the numbers were all over the place. Some of which I'm sure had to do with the fact that it was 8°f out. ( obviously compression should be done warm/ hot but I didnt have that choice)

                    well cold compression test will just give you fake numbers... like higher numbers then are true. Have you pulled the valve cover yet to see if there is anything funky with the valves? cuz a compression test with numbers all over the place sounds very odd

                      Yeah. I just pulled the front cover and all seemed good.

                        hmmm did you check ignition timing? cuz if your getting fuel and spark maybe the spark is way off time cuz the cps is bad or something. put a timing light on it and see what happens when you turn it over. I can ask my uncle and he can look it up on mitchel and see if it is a common prob on probes

                          Yeah, that's the problem. If it is the cam position the. I have to buy a new distributor. The crank sensor, I put a new one in about 6 months ago.

                              Also, Matt isn't gone. I don't know where your getting your info from but hes not. I actually just received my cam on my injectors that he cleaned and flow matched.
