I just used a red scotchbrite to scuff them up then wiped them down with a rag and cleaner then primed them then a few coats of semigloss black.

Hopefully see this thing in person on Saturday
1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor
1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)
If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

That looks great!
What kind of muffling does that rear can do? Is it straight through with glass packing, or?Last edited by sketchman; 05-22-2014, 12:30 PM.Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

Originally posted by gergorian View PostThanks! It is a semi straight through. Its made by a company called Aero and it is their turbine muffler. There are cutaway pics that you can find that show how it works.
If you decide you want some real muffling later on try the design below. Simple to build and works VERY well, but still leaves most of the low grunty sounds, and flows VERY well too.
It's just a chambered resonator without the packing and BIG (like 5/8" big) perforations in the inner tube and a rounded divider.Last edited by sketchman; 05-22-2014, 02:48 PM.Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

That is similar to the way my muffler is supposed to work but in your diagram you are essentially forcing the exhaust to go through the "baffles". Where as, on the Aero muffler I think the science is as the exhaust enters the muffler, some of the gasses expand then travel between the inner and outer skins and then are forced back through the perforations. In a similar fashion to the design you made.

That's my issue with the Aero design. If you don't force air through the baffling part, it's going to take the path of least resistance in my mind. But I'm not an engineer. Just a tinkerer who's read way too much stuff.Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

And there's a lot of thread like this I found from googling.
Exhaust & Intake Systems - Aero Turbine Exhaust System - After a huge amount of research over the past year, I decided to have an Aero Turbine Exhaust System installed & an aFe air intake. I have to tell you that this system, the #3030 is unbelievable. Sounds like true duals, but is a SI/SO and provides lots of extra...Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.
