  • Make sure you move the car before adjustments are made . When you let it down off the jack the outside of the tire will stick and give this issue .
But I still get the alarmed ( oh my ) look everytime I do a swap .
New build on the way .

    • Reminds me of a car in one of snoop dogs videos..

That's about what my car looked like with the full KIA Rio springs, after I cut a coil and it settled it dropped down about right.

      • That's exactly how my Festiva sat with Aspire struts and stock Aspire springs. I went back to stock Festiva front springs, left the Aspire struts on. I used Grade 8, 3/8" diameter bolts in the top hole where the strut bolts to the knuckle. I pushed the top of the tire in as far as it would go, then tightened the bolts hard. They haven't slipped yet, its been maybe 6000 miles. No uneven tread wear, excellent handling and steering.

I would be interested to see what an actual Aspire or Rio lowering spring would do to correct this issue. I don't like cut coil springs.

          • Every time I lift mine, it does that, then after driving it some, it goes back down. I have Aspire springs/struts all around.

              • Thanks for all the suggestions !! Ill wait until I move the car to see what happens. I cranked the steering wheel left and right and bounced up and down on the front end but it still looks the same. Havent moved it forward and back yet. Its in gear and I havent modded my shifter yet, guess I could crawl underneath and get it in N.

                I do have a question:

What size aftermarket cooling fan has anyone used with the stock festiva radiator. I see some on ebay, they all appear to be square. I measured the festiva rad. at 16" wide and 13" tall. Any suggestion ?

                  • Wiring looks correct Fresh. I use a 14 inch cooling fan on my stock rad. I used . 12 inch for a couple years but went to a 14 to get colder ac. The ISC plug should be put on the festy harness. Match the wire sizes not the colors. 1 is bigger than the other. Project is looking "fresh"

Hey, thanks for that wiring confirmation !! I was kind of worried about that. Id hate to short out the ECU or some similar boner. I notice my anxiety about screwing something up gets worst the closer I get.

                      • My front tranny mount gets into my rad space some. It 1 1/4 inches from the radiator on the bottom corner. Most of those slim fans have a max thickness of 2 1/2 inches, probably thickest in the center where the motor is. I wonder how slim they are where my mount/radiator clearance problem is.

All kinds of room up front. Is there any advantage of a pull fan over a push fan ? A push fan sure would open up the engine bay space.

Took the junk off the roof and gave the patient a sponge bath last night. It will clean up better still, needs a waxing. Last time I drove it was a couple of winters ago .

                        • Hmmm

As far as I know, a push fan should work? Realistically the only time the fan is being used is when your crawling or using the A/C, otherwise air is being forced into it when in motion. I suppose one draw back would be less air would get to the spots on the front where the mount is blocking.

I am not an expert though, as you can probably tell.

                          • Fresh just use a 12 inch fan. As long as your rad is up to par it should be fine. I have the mcparts rdiator in mine. Its for an auto but it had no trouble even with ac in the florida heat. To get a 14 inch in mine I had to cut some of the safety cage off of the back at the bottom where it contacted the mount.
