ian thats so kool! i had 631/2 fastback with the toploader & 9'' when i was 20. paid 1200 for it & wish i had it back! oh yeah i had the bellbottoms alsoOriginally posted by fastivaca View PostBoy does that bring back some memories. I used to have one very similar to that...

the picture was taken in the early 70's when I had hair. Mine was a 500XL with the red interior. I installed an overbored 428 after I blew up the original 390. Sound was provided by a quadraphonic 8-track player. I was spending $200 per month on gas when gas was only 50 cents per gallon. Had a part time job at a gas station just to keep the car fueled up!
Wheels were Appliance Smooth Centers with Goodyear Rally GT F60-14's on the front and G60-14's on the back. Ah... those were the days.

What is your preferred polish and colour conditioner?
My tips for show and shine are meguiar's 105 and 205 and orange crush dodo juice.

That was a good primer for those of who love Festivas but may not be the best 'wrenchers' yet. I definitely fit into that category. I wish I had A) more time to work on mine and B) a super smart Festy mechanic next door who would be the 'brains' of my restoration. I think getting dirty (sts) would be fun as long as when you're done with your project, you don't end up with extra parts and the thing you worked on is actually fixed/works, know what I mean?Originally posted by eurotiva View PostThat was me wanting to modify everything without compromising perfection. [QUOTE=eurotiva;641015]Well got Sketchmans valve cover gasket done. Which entails cleaning anything that comes off.... And saw a cool truck pull up to the shop next door.
Before...

After.....

Done.....

What's up with all the labels? Was this Festy previously used at an auto tech class?
BTW, super job on all your projects. It's pretty obvious why your business keeps so busy! Wish I lived a lot closer to you. I'd give you some of my business in a heartbeat.Last edited by Twistiva; 02-10-2014, 10:38 AM.

That would make the down payment, how would I make the payments? :highly_amused: Actually, they're not as expensive as you would think.Originally posted by kumalaba View Postsell your house & get one
