Your car is gonna look good in flat aluminum!

      • Looking great Greg! Are you bringing both the surf car and the red car to madness?
Heres a tip for anyone welding aluminized/galvanized or zinc plated steel. A plastic tub with pool acid (muriatic) is great for removing the coating from the metal parts where you will be welding them. Welding over these coatings will make the welds more brittle and could cause health problems (don't breathe in the little yellow floaties, that's lead). Grinding the coatings doesn't always remove them completely from the base metal and can leave deep gouges in the heat affected zone of the weld, this can also lead to cracking later on.

        • Another trick is soak the parts in white vinegar. Safer, but makes stuff smell bad.

I'm gonna try to bring both, if this one is ready.

                  • Hmmmm. I'm interested in where this is going. That down pipe is quite artistic, and it allows for an A/C compressor.

                    • Update

Since the next project is a bpt. It was time to get a bp in order.

Mike stopped by for a day of work, and we made good progress...

                      On with pics....

On the blue car, I decided to just put a muffler on it....

I found JB weld on the previous exhaust?

So i put a normal muffler on it...

And istalled guages for future add-ons....

And then i had to go do some boat work....went and really "picked this up"

So we had to water test it....

And Mike and I got started on this......

                      Lot's more to come......
