Re: Build thread for MOZDA
So long Capri.
Your donations were much appreciated.
But the 10 square metres you took up were going to cost me hundreds in marriage counselling.

A warning to those who drive on the left side of the street.
If doing a B series DOHC swap. You will have to do something about the brake master cylinder.
Fitted in the factory position, the head and timing belt shroud will collide with the end of the master cylinder.
My contingencies are as follows:
1. fit a 2001-2002 kia rio MC. It's an improvement in braking and it is 30mm shorter that the festiva/121 MC.
2. Use a spacer on the original festiva engine side mount (a la Eurotiva), but push the engine a bit further forward (maybe 50mm [2"]???)
3. (If all else fails )Use spacers to drop the cross member and make a new engine side mount that drops the motor accordingly.
All of these contingencies will cause me one disappointment regardless which way i go..... NO AIR CON... the one creature comfort i wanted to keep.... DOh!!!!
D'oh... they all say d'oh

My project seems to have lost momentum. But its only due to work being quite hectic.
Anyway. I got the engineers at my work to shorten my KYB's. The thing about favours at work is that it takes up to 6 weeks to get things done. Ah well... at least its done.
I mocked up the shock/spring assembly. (its not assembled in its proper order) but i really dislike the spring retainer that comes with the bilstein coilover sleeve.
Ill be making new ones out of teflon and metal washers.

Re: Build thread for MOZDA
My backup head and block arrived today. Block has been machined and head was rebuilt not long ago.
Thanks to Nathan from the ford laser forum.

Re: Build thread for MOZDA
Thanks driver!
My trick is to only do car related stuff when I'm feeling great.
A positive/optimistic attitude attracts less hurdles.
My kids, and the cars make me feel great so as long as I've got either near by, I'm doing well.
