Build thread for MOZDA
Well. As some of you might know, I had a little discrepancy with the engine number on my car. But that seems to be taken care of now.
And to celebrate overcoming a hurdle, I bought me some more goodies:
-97 aspire rear end setup complete with e brake, and 4 wheels with some tread $130
-2001 Kia rio complete front brake setup (inc booster, and m/c), front struts, sway/stabiliser bars, control arms, tie rods, and drive shafts.
I think some of the rio stuff won't be of much use, but I got as much as I could at a flat rate so I don't miss anything.
I also began to strip the wiring out of the capri.
Very productive day indeed.
Might load some pics tomorrow .
Cheers guys!

Re: Build thread for MOZDA
I haven't tried the Capri cluster on yet.
At a glance they do seem different, but I'll confirm later.
Yeah I'm building my suspension as per Charlie's instructions.
The springs are the same ones he has used.
The rear shock have been on order for over a month now, we can't get gr2 here in oz so I bought them from a shop in Cali.
I was tempted to used the Capri brakes in front, but I've found a Kia Rio set up.
Its the older smaller 02 Rio. So the brakes are identical to the aspire (I think).
I've also bought an aspire rear end.
I think I'll keep the Capri brakes for a later date. I've been told that with some modding you can fit escort rotors and galant calipers. This = huge brake upgrade possibilities.
But probably too much brakes for now... might end up doing endos seeing how light this cars are.

Awesome!
P.S. To stay on topic. Look forward to seeing your swap get done. Did you install the Capri cluster in your 121? Perfect fit? Also are you doing the suspension upgrades like Advancedynamics did? Doing all his modifications while you are at it? The springs look like a good pair!

You know what???
Its that small that I missed it LOL...
Strip down is at a stand still. Been doing family duty for the past week. Won't really do much else for another week.
I'm estimating another full day to finish labelling, photographing, and pull motor out.
Might be able to remove all the wiring and ecu at the same time.

Last summer my brother bought a self storage business. The actual building is 40' wide X 270' long and sits on a lot of approximately 2 acres that's all fenced in. The guy he bought it from also owns a metal recycling business next door. They have a constant flow of vehicles that people sell (and sometimes abandon) to be crushed. My brother is allowed to take anything he wants and strip it for parts...as long as he doesnt disrupt the daily activities and pays scrap metal price for the weight of the parts he takes. He already stripped a 79 F100 that had a 460 motor with an aluminum 4v intake, 600 Holley, headers and a 31 spline 3.50TL 9" rear end. He got the intake, carb, Mallory coil, Sun tach and complete rear end for $35. I'm waiting for the day they get a Festiva, 323, Escort GT or Capri in for scrap!!Originally posted by Prafeston View PostI've wanted to buy a flatbed and do this...wish I had the money to invest and the property to put all the cars.
