Re: My n/a super b3 build

I went .40 over and had Matt get the pistons cuz he had to grind the valve relief to fit the oversized valves

No I did not know that... I'll have to look into that. I have all my stuff back from Matt so now just waiting on the local machine shop to finish the block

My long block is together. If you didn't already know, ARP head studs for the B6 fit the B3 perfect. I am waiting for Matt to send my cam back as well as my injectors that he cleaned, flow tested and flow matched.

also had him port and polish my intake...although he told me the stock intake design is horrible so will prob working with him to get some custom built intake for us carby guys.

the notch you see out of the back (the one that looks like crap...lol) that was me when i built my first weber carb adapter plate and it was too thin, so then i had a machine shop here cnc me a better one.

So the finished head now has a custom port and polish, custom oversized intake valves, 5 angle grind on intake side and 3 angle on exhaust, custom ground n/a cam, reduced ridge for less swirl which increased flow, and is machined down for 11:1 compression

Cost is really not that bad considering im going to have a full custom built basically race motor.... so matt is giving really good prices, i am more then happy with the money i spent with him plus you are giving money to another member and helping him progress the buildability of the b3 and getting amazing work.

So i will be somewhere around the 110 mark is my guess... matt said at my altitude i will be over 100 hp easy but dont know exactly cuz im going .40 over and fresh bottom end

well i can tell you right now that matt did this too his except he did not do the roller rockers (which is only minimal help but every bit counts on these little motors) and he had a lower end with 175000 miles. his dyno number was 112 hp @ the wheels. then he ran 8psi of boost on mild tune with pump gas and ran 266 @ the wheels....

I'll be very curious what sort of numbers and increased revs you ultimately get out of all this. Many of us are too cheap, or too lazy, to invest in B3 upgrades and rather look to bigger engines for boost in power.
