thought id put this here in this thread. is the kl platform a ford engineered motor or is it a mazda? i looked it up on wiki with no luck.-90 festiva - bp swap "relentless" (thanks matt) aspire swap, pacesetter, underdrive pulley

The KL engine is a Mazda engine. Ford owned Mazda when the Probe was made ( hence the Probe chassis is the same as the MX6).
*edit* The Probe uses the KLDE and the Japanese Millenias and MX6's used the KLZE which is the same as a KLDE except for the camshafts, upper intake design and the calibration on the ECU, which meant the JDM KL made 200 crank horsepower but the Probe KL makes only 160 hp.Last edited by gergorian; 02-13-2013, 08:49 AM.Comment
