Thanks guys!! It's going to be awhile before I have time to finish it. We have a big project at work with a tight deadline so I've been staying late to get it done in time.
In the meantime, I bought a pretty clean '89 L with A/C and swapped the suspension from the '88 and have been dailying it. Bought it last Saturday around 2pm, stayed up til 1:30am swapping it, then took it to the Clemson autocross the next day.
As found, it was around back at a used car lot. Had been traded in at the Ford dealership and the car lot bought it from them.
Cleaned up.
Swapped.
Still on the paper tag... autocrossed it less than 24 hours after buying it lol.

I didn't get there early enough to walk the track so I was struggling with the course layout all day. I bumped the timing up after my second run which made it easier to overdrive the car, so that didn't help either. Fastest time of the day overall was 50.652, my fastest timed run was a 55.935 which put me slightly quicker than middle of the pack. I made two fun runs afterward (didn't count as a timed run) and ran a 54.752. I didn't grind flat spots on the knuckles like I did on my '88 so it doesn't have quite as much camber up front as it needs, but it was sticking pretty good anyways.'88 L- B6d-Sidedraft Dellorto Carbs-G-Series-Advanced Suspension

Yeah, its fitted and welded up. I cleaned up the weld splatter this weekend to prep if for ceramic coating. Found another slight issue... I test fit the header/flange back when I had the b6d pan on; one of the tubes sticking out of the B6t pan hits the collector flange so I'll remove the tube from the pan. I still need to modify the pipes that go under the pan.

Yeah the blocks are identical. Oil pans are different. I wish I had done bike carbs instead of an Escort carb on my '89.'88 L- B6d-Sidedraft Dellorto Carbs-G-Series-Advanced Suspension
