yea complete rear axle front struts, hubs brakes master cylinder and booster and tie rod ends are all WB spec, seem to have slight positive camber, ill dig out a camber gauge tomorrow so going to pickup new WB LCAs and WA sway bar bushes
sway bar to LCA bushes come as 25mm long with a 47mm flange or 20mm long with a 36mm flange so maybe thats where you ran into problems with the WB LCAs? my WA ones are stuffed and the WB ones are OK sowhen i pickup the WB LCAs i can have a bit of a play before i go and buy new ones, ill let you know which ones to use
if the WB LCAs bring my camber back to 0 i might have to buy some camber bolts so i can dial in 1.5
Ahhhh lol.. Yea was planning on cutting another coil or 2, but I guess it's not urgent now because I got bored and just went out and swapped the bottom strut bolt for a 12mm bolt
I guess next weekend I'll lower it some more but camber is fine now to get me to work this week. I've cut 1.5 coils off the aspire springs, what are you running?
yea i had a glance over that advanced suspension thread but it all seems a bit too spendy for me buying coilovers for VWs and what not, even $200 on a weld on coilover sleeve kit wouldnt give me an economical return on my investment compared to making the best out of the parts i already have
really happy with the way the car handles and stops now, just need to cut another coil off allround and keep going untill im happy with the height
looking at the specs exedy quotes and they claim the 1.3 carby engine is 45kw and 1.5efi is 57kw, bit dissapointing.. if im going to use a festiva F series gearbox and axles i suppose i dont really need an XR2 donor and ill have to start looking at if its feasible to fit a B6 dohc head to my B5 and turbo it
picked up a factory front lip spoiler off a ST162 from one of my mates thats right into celicas, its the perfect width for the front, though the sides will need to be trimmed down... i still have to take my front air dam off and hammer it straight. I drift stitched the crack in my back bumper this afternoon so at least thats not hanging down. while i was at my mates i got him to give me a hand bleeding my brakes again, they were a bit spongey, we managed to improve them but i dunno, i think i might get a M/C rebuild kit for it.
oh yeah my shift knob was pretty crappy and falling apart so i repurposed a plastic and rubber file handle i had laying around.. i have to say i really like it, its like a pistol grip shifter lol
thanks i did the bumpers then decided on the spot the lines were perfect to make it two tone.. definately made to be two tone
im thinking about repraying the grille in grey and blacking out the window frame and b pillar so when i tint the windows it all looks like one piece of glass
also lined up some cheap wheels off a 2009 barina with barely legal tires for $30.. 185/50r15 on 4x100 +45 steel rims. im not liking the look of the black steel rims now its two toned, so im thinking about spray painting them silver or mabye a light silvery gold colour... or even a dark copper/brassy/rust colour, any thoughts?
havent had a chance to do much really, plan of action is: fit barina rims, WB LCAs, cut another coil or two all round and swap the 12mm strut bolt back for the 14mm strut bolt all at the same time then measure the camber i end up with, if its less than 1 degree ill either put the 12mm bolt back in and max it out which should be good for +1.5degrees... or buy adjustable camber bolts if i decide i need more delicate adjustment
I was going to cut the springs today but I've been lazy this weekend... Finished stripping the donor, grabbed the tilt column, power steering kit, A/c compressor, heater fan and fan resistor, was gunna grab the exhaust but just ended up grabbing the cut as the rest of the system was pretty dodge.
Other than that I stripped most of the wiring harness, took a lot longer than expected and my back is sore from working on the ground in the driveway lol
