As of about an hour ago I have a mazdaspeed miata 1.6 dcoe manifold on the way along with two weber dcoe 40's. the dcoe's have 28mm venturi's but I'll be swapping those out for 36mm's soon as well as re-jetting them for the 1600. I found a few places that sell motors for a reasonable price so next pay check I'll be grabbing one of those. In my head right now I'm seeing the b6d, dual webers, low pressure fuel pump mounted inline near the tank since the 1.3 has the fuel pump on the motor, header, keep my wiring, and I'm not sure which tranny yet. That will come later.

The options I'm toying with in my head that aren't solid yet are miata 1.6 obx "stage 2" cams (I have to see if the miata cams are interchangeable with capri cams) and high compression pistons. I'd rather not tear into the bottom end but if I'm going to try for more ponies I might as well go all the way. I'm not sure what the carbs and and a header will do for the bd6 but my goal right now is a conservative 100whp.

Dragonhealer just finished testing on his new cams and that would be a real good match for those carbs. I'm not going to lie, I'm jealous that you found that adapter. I wanted to do this when I was planning on building my 88 (Pedro) but I couldn't find an adapter. This is going to be sweet!
Would either of you know what these twin carbs and manifold are from?

Seller suggests Mazda 323/ford laser 1.5 litre, but the bolt pattern and ports look different.

You will have an entirely different car when you get your suspension on . I drove my car in a monsoon last night with 0 hydro plain the 165/55/14's are great but with stock suspension it still hydroplaneed some.
With the advanced suspension and -3.5 camber it's a whole new car, I can let go of the wheel and mash the gas from a stand still with no torque steer!
Also you should sell me that header! :-)

That looks exactly like the unit I have... A 30mm block with offset runners is what you need to mate up to the head. I have something like it built for a b6...
          Trees aren't kind to me...

          currently: 2 88Ls (Scrappy and Jersey), 88LX, 90L(Pepe), 91L, 91GL (Skippy) 93 GL Sport (the Mighty Favakk), 94 (Bruce) & 95 Aspire SEs, 97 Aspire (The Joker),
94 Justy 4WD, 87 Fiero GT, plus 2 parts cars. That's my fleet.

Awesome! Your mount kit should be done by the end of the week.

This weekend was a long productive one. I ended up trading the d21 nissan for an xj jeep. The jeep is quite rough around the edges right now but I think it'll make a great tow vehicle. At the moment its on 35" tires but I think I'm going to go down to a 33". I'll try to get a pic of the jeep soon.

In other news, my tires came in today. I brought them down to walmart for mounting and balancing (huge mistake) and got them put on the car. They fit almost perfect. They're just inside the rolled rears. Perfectly inside. The only problem I'm having is in the front where the caliper touches the wheel. I guess I'm going to have to use 5mm spacers up front :/

Photo: Ignore the state of my car's exterior. A lot will be changing soon.

I really like the wheels. What size tires you go with?

What did walmart do to your tires?

They took 3 hours to mount and balance 4 tires

Now all I'm waiting for is one top hat, the vw coilovers and the rears. I might just have these installed next weekend.
