Oh, yeah, those are a lot better than the north american imported manifold. The runners are shaped much better and the plenum volume is greater. It's also 2 piece, which is nice if you want to port it or adjust the runner length with a spacer. I've got 2 of these manifolds, one is on our LeMons car. I wish I could get my hands on a few more of them.

found this pic online. usdm vs jdm spec exhaust manifold. I think there are 3 versions of this manifold: the USDM one, the JDM one, and then the GT-AE one. I have the GT-AE one pictured below on the left.
Did some mock up, I still think I'm going to use this data logger because it has inputs for fuel level, RPM etc.
Made some seat brackets. Not horribly proud of them but I will sit very low. May as well have my fat arse as low as possible.

Next part in order is a harness bar. I may end up putting a cage in this thing down the road. But for now i want it to be street-able.

some small updates:
Took apart the cluster for the dash logger. looks like it will physically fit! will need some minor things to get this thing hooked up!
This is the setup!
Miata b6ze 9.4-1 Pistons with my mazda 323 gtx rods everything all cleaned up.
i was going to use my cometic head gasket. But decided against it. Will use it when i blow this thing to kingdom come. Going to try a ebay head gasket with ARP head studs.
I mean they arent exactly that pretty.. but it will work.

You'll probably wish you had used the cometic gasket. The cheap gasket will leak combustion gasses into your coolant. You'll start noticing your coolant dissaperaing and you'll see oily crap in your reservoir. Be sure to re torque the fasteners after the engine heats up. I've had bad luck with fiber gaskets and ARP studs on a few engines.
Another note: when using a cometic mls head gasket, make sure all surfaces are clean and dry. Don't use any sealer on anything. That black coating is a layer of sealant. No. I've had the head skimmed on all the b6 engines I've put together, but never the block. Dragonhealer puts them together without machining and hasn't seen problems. No. I scrape old gasket off with a large planer blade (very sharp and flat) and I hot tank my blocks. I have a couple blocks that need to be surfaced because the deck is pitted, but I haven't used those for anything yet because I've been able to find blocks with good condition decks.Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege.
