  • I have finally gotten Overkill close! Im not gonna say its dialed in yet but its close. It ran great this weekend. I have my seats and belt mounted. I have my push to start panel mounted. i have the water meth mounted. The car is doing good. Now i just need to start on the small stuff like clean it up and start making it look good now! She ran great aside from a low fuel issue (someone didn't put gas in it).

    • I put the street tires back on overkill. I drove it to work today and it felt good to have her back on the road. I wanted to pull the camber out of the front and readjust tow. Well i got the camber out but then tow was so far out i ran out of threads on the tie rods. I had to cut them down to fit with the lowered/ cambered setup. Now i only have that one setup. I need to replace and only cut down as much as needed. Right now i think i cut to much down.

              • The wife drove overkill this weekend. She loved it. Said it was really fun to drive and asked for one...I told her just wait till Lucifer is rocking a built BP+T. As she was driving around some d-bag in a truck took a pic of it and said "what exactly are you killing"

Turns out the car is kinda popular now! Several guys jumped on and set him straight. The dude could not get it like normal but man it was funny.

                • Just ordered a full NRG setup for the car. I got the wheel, quick lock 3.0, hub, and a lock. With overkill now being only push button start i didnt want to go leaving it around asking to be stolen. With the steering wheel off at least it will make someone work for it.

Ordered it in gun metal grey.

                  • Got all the parts for the steering installed. phone is dead so no pictures. Plus i dont know how to upload from my phone now. Love the setup. I can now remove and lock the wheel. makes it that much harder to take the car now.

                    • I have found out that my current tires are 13 years old. The issues with overkill not steering like i think it should might simply be just the super old tires. I hope anyway. I know my driving is off as well but im hoping that fresh tires helps with my confidence in the car. I was under steering very bad. The faster i went the worse it got. The only day i raced on my street tires i have my psi way way way to low. I dont have a real baseline to judge from. Which is bad i know.

I am picking up 2 sets of used slicks that are only 3 months old. They are about 60-70% tread left. I am getting 2 different tire compounds. one in 185 60 13 and one in 205 60 13. I plan to mount up each set and run one in the 1st heat and one in the second heat. That way i can truly compare the two side by side. I just hope the next autocross day is bright and sunny. I will report back after i have ran the both of them to see what the results are.

                        • 105# spring on order as well as new rear struts. I let a friend install the rears on overkill and he stripped out the nut/strut body. I just welded the nut in place to get me by. Well im finally getting around to fixing it.

When i load overkill down it drives much much better. SO id say with the lighter spring in the rear and with the car empty it should ride a good bit better. We will make these corections and test it out and see what she does. I have a race comig up this weekend so it crunch time once again.

I have a family event Saturday so im not gonna have much time to work on it. I might have to make Saturday a long night.

                          • I pulled my camber plates out of the rear. I still need to take out the e-brake extension. From a very short drive the car feels much more alive in 1st and 2nd gear. It turns in much better. Or at least it seemed to. It could be in my head but thats what i recall. Doing light swerves left n right it seems to turn as if im on my slicks and really tuning the wheel more then i actually was. I wont know how much effect it will have until race day. Also i am going to adjust my front camber a bit closer to zero. Right now i am around -4° or so. I think i want to try -2°-2.5° maybe -3°. I have no really good spot to go test at so its hard to do any real testing.

My current thinking is that the car/ my driving is just not fast enough yet for all that camber in the rear. With the power my car has i need a bit more rubber on the ground. If i am gonna be unable to turn the way i want to at this time at least i can set it up to give me the best drive out of the turns and off the line. Thats really my best bet until i learn the car better.

                            • I have my 105 srpings on the car now. They do feel quite a bit better with the weight of my car. I did get the rear lose a bit on the very short test drive i did. I will finish setting the front camber and toe this weekend before the race. Im hoping to have her all redialed in for the race sunday.

My old struts were stripped out at the top. I DIDN"T DO IT...So they had some play in them. I think that play was really hurting me. Now the car feels great. I have not tested with the slicks yet tho. I need to get the slicks all cleaned up and get even tire pressure in them and find the two that best match in ø and get them on the front. Lots to do this weekend.

                              • Overkill did great today. I finished 7th fastest out of around 38 i think. The car was doing great. on the same big back corner that i was getting crazy understeer on i was on the edge of sliding. I didnt use any trail braking. I slowed down a ton. If i used some trail brake/left foot i think i could have hit the couple turns way better and not lost as much speed.

Taking the rear camber out seems to have really helped. The new tires were great as well. It was a very good race weekend. On my street tires i ran a 50.3 on the slicks i ran a 46.4 with lots of romm to go much faster.
