Not the best picture, I painted the steelies on this metro last summer, turned out pretty good. I bought the paint at Wal-Mart for a few bucks a can.

1 can was plenty. just grab 1 can of wheel paint, one can of 99 cent of walmart equipment grey primer, and a pack of index cards. it will come out just as nice on the alloys, i painted the alloys on my sentra with the silver as well, i just don`t have a pic of those.Originally posted by yutz View Postso it took just one can ? it looks great. would it do the same job on the alloys ?what do you think ?

Low Odor Paint Stripper found at most auto parts stores, Walmart, hardware stores, etc., will remove either the silver or white paint without damaging the aluminum. Make sure you wash them well after. When repainting, don't use cheapo primer, it doesn't stick or react well to/with aluminum. Use an epoxy primer, again available at most big auto parts stores. Don't forget to clear coat if you spray them silver, helps prevent brake dust from staining the metallic particles, and makes a shiny-er, more factory finish.Originally posted by festyxfi View PostI've wondered if the white can be removed (giving me a full set of silver 12's) or paint one white.Jim DeAngelis

no need for expensive primer or clear with the duplicolor wheel coat. also no need to go through the hassle of stripping unless you want to get crazy with them. i have had good luck with this paint, and i've used it at least 10 times. it stands up very well to brake dust and road dirt, just wash the wheels off every now and then. sand down rough spots, scuff up the rest, clean them off, and they are ready for primer, then the paint. cheapy grey walmart primer sticks and covers the best, i usually buy it by the case and i use it on everything, GREAT stuff for the money.Last edited by ruppenduro; 01-27-2009, 09:03 PM.
