i concur, most people who have SUV's don't need them, and they've never been off road or towed with them.

but isn't having a bunch of festiva's in excess?

We are being tested. No ones really mad they are sneaking back up, until it reaches a certain level. My income at the end of the day is directly affected by how much I pumped into my car, and I'm not "mad" yet. The prices have been so great even the diehard hypermilers were taking a break, working on other projects, like saving money on house utility bills. (that can be much morre over a year than gasoline.) $2.13 lastnight when I drove home. I haven't left the house today yet but im sure it went up again because it's been the same price all week. $2.50 and youll probably see another LA news story.

just wanted to show this too:

Muscle, Seriously? why not? I sort of have that same mindset, but figure there comes a time when the parasite has already killed it's host...time to start eating what's left before it go putrid.

Summer always seems higher beause of Memorial Day....4th of July and Labor Day Holidays....but these are spikes...the weeks prior to and following are rather moderate.

Also remember that gas prices do not follow normal economic supply and demand curves. This past summer when we set the record domestic price...+$4.00...the refined supply was the highest or record.

A couple of months ago Congres held hearings and had the CEO of J.P. Morgan testify about all of his companies gas holdings and the beans were out.
