hey everyone, my names todd, and im going to be the proud owner of a festiva soon, lol. I was looking for a cheaper car to mess with that everyone else doesn't mess with and landed on my girlfriends moms festiva.

The car has about 127k on it very little surface rust with a "locked" transmission (her moms boyfriend changed the oil and accidently drained the tranny and tried to drive it and it locked, idiot) Anyways at 175 bucks its hard to turn down. I have a few questions that i will be searching for, but any help is appreciated. My goals for the car are to run (hopefully) into 13's quarter mile, with a budget of 1500 total. What are popular swaps for the car (turbo only please thats where most of my experiance in cars is) with little to no modifications and what cars are those swaps found in? My aim is to simply pull one engine out, and drop it in with minimal cutting and welding needed. Also, whats a good tranny to get that will bolt up to the stock engine and hopefully the new engine.

Just a brief past, i've had an SRT-4 and 2 turbo hondas so im not new to the turbo game.

    Thanks for the help, Todd

Wow! If I were him I personally would've taken it upon myself to put another tranny in. Oh well, then you wouldn't have acquired it eh?

Well, there are some popular turbo options available to you. I'm going with a B6T, which is capable of that kind of 1/4 mile. It is a turbocharged 1.6 DOHC Mazda engine. It will bolt to a Festiva 5-speed tranny with a Suzuki Swift clutch, or use a G25MR tranny. I think less is involved to make it fit with the Festiva tranny though, you can get motor mounts for it. Another popular swap is the BPT, a turbocharged 1.8. I don't know a great deal myself quite yet, but I think $1500 will be pushing it.

Congratulations on your new ride though, it's a great choice, given how incredibly light they are. Welcome and good luck!

          what up

the 1.6 t engine is a very easy swap you chould get a engine cheap but you are going to rebuild it. the other swap that you can do is the one im doing which is 1.8 which you can get out of older escoet gt you can also tubro that motor. 1.8 install is harder tight fit.

For rebuilt kits and ebay vendor will do unless you have someone you normally deal with. Jisengine.com for me.

check out corksport.com for aftermarket items for the b6t.
