If your just building ramps then i would imagine 2x4's should work, but as the trailer deck, then i'd go with your idea of using 2x6's with 2x4 bracing

1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor
1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)
If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Just as a cheap "ramp" to get on the trailer.I have to tow about 20-22 cars about 45 miles to my town.Getting tired of going out in bfe every week to pull parts,so,I want to bring them home, take all the good parts off and scrap the rusty ones.

I used wood ramps when I picked up and aspire...they were about 5 foot long....had no issues with it."FLTG4LIFE" @FINALLEVEL , "PBH"

I'm a little hunk of tin, nobody knows what shape I'm in. I've got four wheels and a running board, I'm not a Chevy, I'M A FORD!

i would use something like this:
The black parts would be 2x4s with the 4" being depth and the yellow bits would be a piece of 3/4" plywood that would be the part the tire touched. This would be an upside-down view.-Caleb

Probably, it's a Festiva. Wood has pretty good tensile strength as long as it isn't really old or something like that.

here's how i'd do this ramp setup with 2x4's.. orient them with the 2 (1.5" actual) down and 4 (3.5" acutal) vertical... a 2x4 is much stronger that way, then just nail 4 to 5 2x4's together every 1 foot or so..... this would be able to hold a festiva easily.
