Where are you gonna get a car this good to replace what you are selling for $600- $800? Even more money out the door, methinks.

Just for comparison, for the $800 or so max you guys are talking, you can buy a totally rust-free Festy on the West Coast, then spend $100 or 2 in gas and a few days driving it back home.

^ Plus the cost of the flight out there. And most cars you buy used are not in "needs nothing" condition. Keeping your car, you know its exact condition.

Precicely I would love to fly out and drive a car home unfortunately that little trip quickly become a $2500 vehicle cost

            Cost of car
            Cost of flight
            Cost of fuel
            Cost of insurance
            Cost of tags
            Cost of food
            Cost of Accomadations
Lost over-time hours at work since vacation only pays 8 hrs

            Some things to think about.

Sure you could sleep in the car and only eat twice a day to save money but the cost is still up there compared to a car you can go get in a days time or even a two day weekend

Wow, you guys have thought of everything!

Here's the deal. I have 6 cars. One is the SUV for towing, the Festy, the WRX and 3 garage queens (well actually 2, one is getting ready for a makeover). The garage queens don't come out unless the weather is perfect. Plus there are minor things I'd like to address on all of them.

I drive the WRX because my commute is 15 minutes. She drives the Festy because the commute is 40 minutes- soon to be longer. My commute is in town and hers is on the highway. The gripe, besides no power is the fact the semi trucks seem to blow the festy all over the road.

She was complaining the other day that the brakes were out and we finally fixed them and since she was griping I told her I'd sell the car and buy something newer, more comfortable and just sacrifice the mpg - mostly for my own sanity.

Now she says she'll keep it as anything she'd want is to expensive. I'd planned to sell one of the queens but the market is too crappy and I don't like to loose money...So... I guess I'll see what I can do in the interim. I guess I'll keep the festy until I can find a suitable replacement, then I'll re-consider the sale or the swap.

BTW, what would a swap run me and how long would it take? I can make a road trip if I need to- this car is very reliable. Just a thought....

^ Talk to eurotiva about a B8 swap; he can easily do it in a weekend. Cost should be pretty cheap too.

Maybe I'll be able to keep the festy and have more power too!

Yes I know. I've tried to do bodywork myself but I have zero talent.

Oh, well... I guess I'll just have to stay rusty- for now.

Well, the car has been sold. As I was cleaning all of the "boss'" stuff out of the car, I pulled the tray to dump out the contents. When the buyer came by, I was scrambling to give him everything that went with the car and forgot about the tray.

SO, I have the underseat tray available for sale without the tracks if anyone might be interested.

I think freshtiva last offered $900 for the tray
