    I've seen stiff rubber side skirts used on Semi trucks. I guess the benefit of that is if you bottom-out on something it will just bend instead of cracking/breaking like plastic might.

      Never seem rubber ones on semi's,but have seen fiber glass ones!
      But you make a good point, as low as a festiva is a part of an old rubber conveyor belt would work pretty good, and be pretty resistant to being broke off by bottoming out only limited by how well fastened the skirt was to the car!

        Yeah, they're not full fiberglass. They're about 4-5 inches in height and are added to the bottom of the fiberglass side skirts to get closer to the ground.

          Ah, never seen the extension, but have started to see more and more of the fiberglass ones anchored to the box trailer underside!
          That makes sense though given some of the roads I've been on and some of the stuff that gets run over!
