Got the suspension from the Golf MK2, about to grab the hubs and rear axle beam from the red Festiva and start cleaning everything up and getting it ready to paint/install. Gotta get some 4x100 wheels to do 'er up, which means new tires, which means that this is going to take awhile, since I don't have a job right now and have to spare money for "important" stuff like bills.
Also threw the hubcaps from the Golf onto the Festiva today. Doesn't look terrible, even though they have the VW logo on them.

Looks more like a Subaru Justy than a VW anything, really. I'm not going to modify the wheel caps because they're about $40 each, so I'll probably end up selling them, since I'm gutting the VW... but until I get nicer wheels, they're a lot better looking than the Aspire steels that I'm running now.Comment

Picked up a B6 today....again .....
3rd attempt at getting a motor for the swap. This one looks pretty decent.
......at least it isnt locked up. :eeeeeek:

Broke a front sway bar.
Anyone have a clue about whether not I can weld a threaded piece to the end of it and smooth it off?
It's the driver's side end, the threads broke clean off the damn thing when I went to remove the nut to get it free from the control arm.Comment

Installed wheel spacers, new 35mm length lug bolts and aluminum rims with 14 inch tires and... WOW! I love the look!
